this Saturday, I made the trek over to LCC and S to witness my brother graduating from college...congradulations bro! It was great to see most people, and okay to see others. I had a chance to visit with family and friends and give acquaintances that look that says, "hey, I see you, I went to school with you, and...I don't really want to talk to you." Being away from Lincoln has been both difficult and fun. It is tough to be uprooted and realize that those great friends will be much more distant now that you don't live on top of each other. Just being in the educational atmosphere where thinking hard/different and poking at the "bubble" of common thought is encouraged is an exhilarating experience. I miss it. So here's a short list of what/who I saw and my comments of said individuals.
1. Adam H. - I am super proud of my brother and his commitment to finish school and get into ministry...a little more commitment to cleaning our kitchen would be even better.
2. Lucas M. - Sorry it was so short, but of all my good friends, I see you the most...don't wear a nice suit coat with Jeans...it reminds me of the guy who played Webster's dad on the show of the same name...oh wait, that guy was cool, he played for the Chicago Bears.
3. Lindy N.- I didn't even get to say hi to her, but I figure that's good, b/c I have the super power of making girls cry...just kidding (not really).
4. Cafeteria food in the Laughlin center - nicer building, better looking food, same "great" taste (Dan Papuga ROCKS with his cubed cheese)
5. 3 ex-girlfriends. I've lost more hair, you've gained more weight...we're even.
6. Romulous (Nick P.) - why haven't you visited my home in St. Charles yet?!
7. Serena's sister - She's hot!!!!!
8. Isaac G. and Michael G. - it is odd that I look up to both of you since I barely knew either of you during my years at LCC. Between a class here or there and an SFG I think I can admit that you are both my super heros. Michael, thanks for the warm welcome on Sat. and the help with my blog. Isaac, it cracks me up that you have a pink scarf that goes with your robe. Don't worry, you can still fight the forces of evil in pink...hee hee...no seriously, I bet that after Superman washed his outfit 100 times that red looked pink.
9. Jeff P. - I seriously had to hold my tongue. I really do wish him well, but the joke opportunity was at its prime on graduation day.
10. Serena's sister - you are hot!!!!
11. Gross feet in video/song. That video quality was questionable, but the nasty feet shown for the foot washing made me think twice about what Jesus did for his disciples.
12. Ben Browning - his fake tan was extremely dark. People are going to think he's...er...happy. No seriously that dude cracks me up.
13. Graduating seminary students - i envy you and your dedication, hard work, and knowledge...but you are all still big nerds!
14. Everyone else - good to see you, and since my older brother will be graduating with his something or other next year, I'm sure I see you all agin soon.
