right now, I am sitting in the sound booth at work waiting for Dare 2 Share to start. Since the program hasn't started, they are just showing a loop of music videos. It is all "christian" music. Playing right now is some rap/hip hop music. Has a couple of guys driving around in a classic car, a bus with spinners, and a bunch of other elements to make it look like an MTV hip hop video. My question is, does anybody care about this kind of music. Why won't it just die out?!

Disco used to be wildly popular. Anymore, it is used for it's "retro" value. Nobody really listens to it. Nobody turns on the radio and looks for k89.5 "all disco, all day." In fact that station doesn't even exist!

When we are all grandmas and grandpas, will we still be listening to Fifty Cent, or Eminem? Will we have a nice dinner party and put on Nelly? God, I hope not! There is just something not quite right about that picture. My Dad still really likes the bands that he listened to in high school/college. Recently, he's been listening to some newer stuff like Coldplay. But music has never been a part of his life like it is a part of our lives now.

I am getting sick of the whole hip hop scene, and I hope other people are too.

The other day, I was watching morning television, and I came across my old friend, Joyce Meyers. They were showing some promo spots for her ministry and blah, blah, blah. Anyways, they showed a scene with her in some kind of poor 3rd world country surrounded by little black children. The worst part was that she was reaching out and touching all these kids, but she's wearing one of her sequin red outfits and all her jewelry and all her makeup. I find this grotesque. I am not sure why.

I saw a magazine the other day with Ashlee Simpson on the cover. The caption read, "Don't gudge her till you read this." What are they doing?! This is rediculous. I want to read that article and laugh at it, but that will only make Ashlee more marketable! Dang, why can't they just leave her alone for a few years and then write a good article called, "Good thing she's gone now." and i could still laugh at it, but she won't come back.
