thyme to blog...
last night there was a small argument inside our apartment about the whereabouts of the pepper. I claimed that we were out, and John insisted that there was a whole 'thing' of it in the spice cabinet, and Adam (who initially thought the pepper shaker was simply clogged) was just along for the ride. After thoroughly inspecting said cabinet, I found no pepper and proceeded to complain about how my italian beef sandwich would not be quite as good as it should be. So, after a few uncomfortable moments of me making a big deal out of nothing, John gets up to prove that there is in fact pepper in the cabinet and begins moving around all the spices to locate it. As he's moving them, he names them off...like a kind of verbal checklist.

"let's see, there's garlic salt, parsley, thyme..."

I quickly cut him off because of the way he pronounced the word 'thyme' with a 'th' sound.

"uh, John...just so that you can avoid future embarassment, that spice is pronounced 'time.'"

He looked over his shoulder at me with a frown.

"yeah, i knew that, I pronounced it wrong on purpose."

I look over at Adam and i could tell by the look on his face that he was thinking the same thing I said.

"yeah, sure you did."

Adam and I just started laughing.

"guys, I know how to pronounce thyme. I was just being stupid."

John tried singing a little song to prove himself, but we weren't buying it.

'Right...i believe you!'

"You guys are so stupid."

I look over at Adam and he's joining in with me.

"Adam and I can both tell you had no clue."

Then Adam said...

"well, that one's going on the old blog!"
