RELENTLESS
I stepped off the stage after my Sunday morning warm-up and was immediately greeted by an older member of our congregation. This was our conversation:

"Hey Tyler, do you play any other instrument besides the guitar?"

"Yeah, I play piano, drums, bass, electric guitar..."

"Oh that's great, I thought you probably played other instruments. You should play one of those some Sunday. Some people are getting tired of the guitar every week."

"Um...well..."

"Do you think maybe you could play piano?"

"Actually, I can't lead from the piano. I'm not good enough to do it."

"I really love the organ!"

"Yeah, I wish it wasn't so hidden back in the corner. I'd like to get it out and be more visible. I like it a lot too."

"My mom played the piano and organ in the nursing home till she was 92 years old...blah, blah, blah."

"Wow, that's amazing."

"Anyways, I just love the organ. We should have that organ player play a lot louder."

I smile and nodd as I begin to walk away.

I wish I could say that this is the first time I've had this conversation with someone from the congregation. Anyways, I hope she (and the others) really get to liking the guitar because the future worship minister at this church (whoever it may be) will more than likely be a guitar player.
