WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH...
...burning the roof of your mouth? It is an awful thing that happens usually when you are in a hurry as you eat. Take a bite and all of a sudden your mouth is filled with pain. Do you spit out the food? No, because you know it will cool down in a second and besides, the damage has already been done. You may finish that meal in comfort, but for the next three days you are always aware of the burn that makes eating not very enjoyable. My question is, why does this still happen?

I would like to think that humans have been burning the roofs of their mouths from the first time hot food became available. So, when that first caveman discovered fire and cooked something over it, he began a new form of pain for the human race. But today, millions of years later, we are still doing this. You'd think we'd either learn our lesson, or our mouths would've evolved to be able to withstand a greater food temperature. But no, everytime I eat pizza, i realize that neither of these things has come to pass. Pizza is the worst for this. It is best right out of the oven, so you are tempeted to dig right in. You take your first bite and it's not bad at first until the molten pizza sauce makes it's way to the top...the roof of your mouth. And you've just ruined your meals for the next few days....

We have to put a stop to this. We must begin a mouth-burn awareness campaign. We can travel to schools and do seminars and show the proper way to eat pizza and other hot foods. We could also hand out cool pens that have our logo on it...wait, what's our logo gonna be?
